For the interiors of each home, Kate Roach has been inspired by the exterior, taking the rawness of the outside materials and finding a refined equivalent for the spaces inside. The result is a seamless aesthetic experience which balances sophistication with urban authenticity, drawing on a cool palette inside with materials such as glass and metal to maximise light.
Surfaces and spaces
Taking cues from the neighbouring Victorian houses, the building presents a series of transitions from the street into the building.
Some residences feature street-level walk-in entrances, while others feature classic New York-style walk-down entrances with a private garden. With a range of creeping and flowering vegetation, these walls seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment.
